This year’s event attracted the participation of 51 teams from 20 villages around Thac Ba lake. The event showcases determination, strategy, techniques and teamwork, creating  exciting and fierce competition. Basket boats are not only a means of transport but also a distinctive cultural trait of Thac Ba locals. The event creates a playground where locals can learn from each other about basket boatbuilding as well as a chance for Yen Binh district to showcase its cultural beauty, promoting more investment in the tourism sector. In order for the boat competition to take place and attract a large number of visitors, Yen Binh district and Thac Ba hydropower plant JSC have carefully prepared for environmental issues and arranged for security to provide the best conditions possible. The race also leaves a deep impression on many visitors from inside and outside the province, promising to attract a large number of visitors from near and far to the next basket boat racing festival./.
