First class order bestowed upon Japanese national health centre
The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan presented the President’s first-class Labour Order to the National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) in Japan at a ceremony on December 4.
Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy inJapan presented the President’s first-class Labour Order to the National Centerfor Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) in Japan at a ceremony on December 4.
The order was given in recognition of the centre’sexcellent contributions to caring for the well-being of Vietnamese people andhigh-ranking leaders. Also on the occasion, three individuals working at theNCGM received second-class Labour Orders and six others obtained third-classLabour Orders.
Speaking at the ceremony, head of the NCGM NorihikoKokudo said that it is a great honour for the establishment to receive such atitle.
He stated that during their nearly three decades ofcooperation, the centre has always considered Vietnam its most importantinternational partner. The NCGM plans to push for comprehensive collaborationwith the Vietnamese side in more fields outside of healthcare.
Since 1990, the NCGM, under the Japanese Ministry ofHealth, Labour, and Welfare, has supported Vietnam via programmes funded by theministry and other projects of the Japan International Cooperation Agency andthe World Health Organisation. It has sent 810 experts to Vietnam and received648 Vietnamese for education and research purposes. The centre signed amemorandum of understanding on cooperation with Bach Mai hospital in Hanoi andCho Ray hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as with the healthcare committeefor state officials. –VNA
