A national wildlife park will be built in the northern province of Ninh Binh to preserve rare animal species.
A national wildlife park will be built in the northern province of Ninh Binh to preserve rare animal species.

Under the park construction plan, announced by the provincial People’sCommittee on May 30, the park, the first of its kind in Vietnam, willcover 1,154 hectares in Ky Phu and Phu Long communes of Nho Quandistrict.

With an estimated cost of 7.3 trillion VND(347.6 million USD), the park will include an area for wildlife,service and entertainment centres, a resettlement area and a forestzone.

Once put into operation in 2015, it will houseabout 3,000 wild animals from 250 species, serve about 5 millionvisitors and create jobs for 2,500 locals.

NinhBinh boasts Cuc Phuong National Park, which is home to 2,000 species ofplants, 110 species of reptiles and amphibians, 125 mammals, and 308bird species.-VNA

As a key member of the core group of 18 countries, initiated by Vanuatu, Vietnam engaged in advocating for the UN General Assembly’s Resolution N.77/276, requesting for the ICJ’s advisory opinion. Following the resolution's adoption, Vietnam fully participated in all procedural steps for the first time, from submitting written proposals to presenting directly at the court’s hearings.
