First phase of Phu Lac Wind Power Plant inaugurated

The first phase of the Phuc Lac Wind Power Plant has been put into operation in Phu Lac commune of Tuy Phong district, the south central province of Binh Thuan.

BinhThuan (VNA) – The first phase of the Phuc Lac Wind Power Plant hasbeen put into operation in Phu Lac commune of Tuy Phong district, the southcentral province of Binh Thuan.

In the first phase, the plant will use 12 turbines with a total capacity of24MW using under advanced technology of Denmark’s Vesta and HBB of Sweden.

The project has a total investment of nearly 1.1 trillion VND (49.3 millionUSD), including 85 percent of loans from the German Development Bank (KfW).

In September, the plant went into commercial operation and connected with thenational grid.

The facility is the third operational wind power plant in Binh Thuan, togetherwith those in Tuy Phong and Phu Quy Districts, increasing the province’s totalwind power capacity from 36MW to 60MW.

Addressingthe inaugural ceremony on November 25, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Luong Van Hai said that Binh Thuan has carried out numerous incentivesto attract investment in wind power. Up to 19 wind power projects have been todate registered in the province.-VNA
