The first-ever river bus route in Ho Chi Minh City will be put into operation on November 25 with the hope of easing road traffic loads.

– The first-everriver bus route in Ho Chi Minh City will be put into operation on November 25with the hope of easing road traffic loads.

A representative from Thuong Nhat company – the investorof the project revealed the information on November 20.

The company launched and conducted technicaloperation in August this year. It is now finalising technical inspection ofsafety and evaluation of passengers’ demands.

Main stations of the first route such as BachDang and Linh Dong have been connected with the city’s bus network tofacilitate the movement of city dwellers.

Thuong Nhat company has proposed connecting theriver bus route with electric ones to tourist destinations, hotels and museumsacross the city.

The proposal has been approved by the municipalDepartment of Transport and is submitted to the municipal People’s Committeeand the Ministry of Transport.

The river bus route, which is 10.8 km long,connects Bach Dang wharf in District 1 with Linh Dong ward in Thu Duc districtwith one-way tickets priced at 15,000 VND (0.66 USD).

The second route will be 10.3 km connecting BachDang wharf with Lo Gom area in District 6.-VNA
