Five outstanding achievements of Vietnam at UNSC during 2020-2021 tenure
Vietnam had a successful tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2020-2021, a difficult period for the world and the UNSC in particular due to complicated, uncertain and unprecedented developments in the world.
Vietnam has obviously played an active role at the UN Security Council (UNSC), and successfully performed the task of the President of the council in two months, according to Ambassador T.S Tirumurti, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations (UN).
“Vietnam has achieved all set targets with some aspects succeeding beyond expectation”, stated Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, during an interview granted to Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of Vietnam’s completion of its term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC) in 2020-2021.

The new Quang Tri province will include 78 commune-level units and features key assets such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a long coastline, historical landmarks, three international border gates, deep-water ports, a modern transport network, and two airports.
