Hanoi (VNA) – Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang updatedthe situation of Vietnamese citizen Nguyen Quoc Phi who recently died in Taiwan(China) during a regular press conference in Hanoi on September 21. 

Hang saidthe Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department held a working session with theVietnamese Economic – Cultural Office in Taipei on September 8 and asked the Taiwaneseside to soon investigate and make clear the case, adding that the office issuedurgent visa to family of the victim to handle funeral observances.

The officeworked closely with the Taiwanese authorities and requested that the case mustbe seriously dealt with. It is also keeping a close watch on the case and readyto provide necessary citizen protection measures, including legitimate rightsand interests of the Vietnamese national.-VNA
