Football fans to select player of the year for 2015

Vietnamese football fans will be able to vote for the favourite players in 2015 through the internet, it was revealed in Ho Chi Minh City on January 22.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese football fans will be able to vote for the favourite players in 2015 through the internet, it was revealed in Ho Chi Minh City on January 22. The programme is launched by the Cong an thanh pho Ho Chi Minh (Ho Chi Minh City Police) newspaper to honour football players who made significant contributions on the field.
The selected footballers must be Vietnamese (foreign players or those naturalised are excluded) and have been competing in domestic events organised or sponsored by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). The player who receives the highest number of votes will be awarded with a certificate of “ Vietnam ’s Player of the Year” and 100 million VND (4,500 USD) in cash, while the runner-ups will get 30 million VND (1,350 USD) and 20 million VND (900 USD) respectively.
All Vietnamese football fans at home and abroad having email or a Facebook account are allowed to vote for their favourite footballer, via binhchon.congan.com.vn from January 23 to February 23. The organisation board will announce the result on February 28.-VNA
