Hanoi (VNA) – Australian Ambassador toVietnam Andrew Goledzinowski has wished Vietnamese people peace, love and prosperity in the Yearof the Cat 2023.
The diplomat came to a small Tet market held in Metropole Hotel in Hanoi, where he explored the traditions of making “Chung” cake (square glutinous rice) – the soul of Tet, and family gatherings duringthe biggest festival.
As the Lunar New Year is just around the corner, DanishAmbassador to Vietnam Nicolai Prytz recalled major events in 2022 when Vietnam and Denmarkcelebrated the 50th founding anniversary of their diplomatic ties, notably thevisit to Vietnam by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary Elizabethfrom October 31 to November 3.
The couple were accompanied by Danish firms mainlyoperating in energy, he said, stressing that the two sides expressed their hopeto work together for a greener future.
The visit contributed to promoting the bilateralcooperation in both politics and trade, the ambassador said, using this occasionto wish Vietnamese partners and people a happy New Year.
Denmark wants to continue its close cooperation withVietnam in the years to come, particularly in green transition where bothnations share a vision and aspiration, he emphasised.
For their part, British Ambassador to Vietnam IainFrew and Consul General in HCM City Emily Hamblin wished the entire Vietnamesepeople peace, success, happiness andgood luck.

Frew noted his belief that the relations betweenVietnam and the UK will grow stronger with more links between the people,businesses and governments in 2023 that marks the 50th anniversaryof diplomatic ties./.
Vietnamese people will join other Asian-origin communities at the 16-day Sydney Lunar Festival in the Australian city to mark the coming Lunar New Year.
The Ministry of National Defence on January 19 organised a programme connected to Vietnamese peacekeeping forces still on duty in other countries, on the approach of the Lunar New Year – Vietnam’s biggest national festival.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
