Hanoi (VNA) – More than 300 delegates, who are foreign diplomats in Hanoi, their spouses, and representatives from international and non-governmental organisations participated in a spring tour in 🀅Hanoi on March 13.

The tour took them to the Hai Ba Trung (Trung Sisters) temple and a flower field in suburban Me Linh district.
The two sisters Trung Trac and Trung Nhi led an uprising against the Han invaders from China in 40 AD. Their victory brought the liberation for Dai Viet (an old name for Vietnam) after 247 years of Chinese domination. Deputy head of the diplomatic corps in Hanoi Venezuelan Ambassador Jorge Rondon Uzcategui said that the programme provided foreigners living in Vietnam with an insight into the country’s culture and heritage site, thus contributing to tightening mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnam and international friends.
Vu Thi Hai, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations – Hanoi branch, stated the programme, held annually by the union and Hanoi, aims to promote the rich historical heritage and cultural values of the capital city. The tour was concluded by an art programme with traditional performances of Vietnam and other countries.-VNA
