French historian Alain Ruscio, who has conducted many research studies on Indochina and Vietnam, has praised the character of late President Ho Chi Minh, which he said attracts the attention and respect of the French people.

Hanoi (VNA) -
French historian Alain Ruscio, who has conducted many research studies on Indochina and Vietnam, has praised the character of late PresidentHo Chi Minh, which he said attracts the attention and respect of the Frenchpeople.

PresidentHo was a sincere and humble man who did not care about fame, he said, stressingthe simple lifestyle he preferred even after becoming head of state.

Helived and worked in a small dwelling in the corner of the Presidential Palacerather than a big house, the historian explained.

PresidentHo, he went on, has been mentioned in all of his books as his career andmessage were of interest to all colonised peoples.

A formerjournalist with the L’Humanité (Humanity)newspaper, where President Ho worked as a correspondent, Ruscio said he haspublished three works dedicated to President Ho, in 1990, 1999, and 2019.

In aninterview granted to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on the occasion of PresidentHo Chi Minh’s 130th birthday, the historian expressed his greatrespect and admiration for the Vietnamese leader and his legacy./.
