FrieslandCampina Vietnam donated more than 17,500 glasses of milk and essential items last week to children and families affected by floods in the northern province of Yen Bai and Hanoi.

HCM City (VNA) - FrieslandCampina Vietnam donated morethan 17,500 glasses of milk and essential items last week to children andfamilies affected by floods in the northern province of Yen Bai and Hanoi.

Students of Ta Xi Lang primary and secondary ethnic minority boarding schoolin Yen Bai province’s Tram Tau district, which was isolated by floods, and kidsat An Phu B kindergarten and families in An Phu commune in Hanoi’s My Ducdistrict received milk.

Earlier the company also collaborated with the Ministry of Education andTraining, Vietnam Border Guard High Command, local education departments andothers to gift nearly 42 tonnes of milk to students in kindergartens andprimary schools in disadvantaged areas in the provinces of Yen Bai, Son La, DienBien and Ha Giang.

Students and teachers there face hardships with regard to teaching,transportation and living needs.-VNA
