Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha on April 10 visited and congratulated Khmer people in the southern province of Soc Trang on their traditional New Year festival Chol Chnam Thmay.

Speaking at the event,Ha expressed her delight at the local development, with the rate of poor Khmerhouseholds brought down to about 4.5%.
She wished allBuddhist monks, nuns and Khmer people in the province a happy New Year andbelieved that they will uphold the tradition of patriotism and join hands with local authorities and residents toaccomplish socio-economic tasks this year.
On the occasion, shepresented 100 gifts to local Buddhist dignitaries and reputable persons in the Khmercommunity.
