Front President sends greetings to Hoa Hao Buddhist followers

Hanoi (VNA) – President of the VietnamFatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man on July 4 extended hisbest wishes to Hoa Hao Buddhist dignitaries and followers, on the occasion ofthe 81st founding anniversary of the religious sect (1939-2020).
In a letter sent to Hoa Hao Buddhist dignitaries andfollowers, Man lauded their efforts in implementing the Party’s guidelines, andthe State’s laws and policies, as well as movements and campaigns in buildingnew-style rural areas and civilised urban areas, sustainable poverty reduction,environmental protection, and climate change response.
They have also joined hands with people nationwide inthe fight against the COVID-19 pandemic with various activities, he highlighted.
Man expressed his belief that the Hoa Hao BuddhistSangha and followers will continue to stay united and promote good values ofthe sect during national construction and defence./.
Nearly 2 million dignitaries and followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism from 17 provinces and cities attended a ceremony at An Hoa temple, Phu My town, Phu Tan district of southern An Giang province on July 1 to celebrate the sect’s 79th founding anniversary (the 18th day of the fifth lunar month).
The Hoa Hao Buddhism convened its fifth national congress for the 2019-2024 tenure on June 4-5 at An Hoa pagoda, Phu Tan district, the southern province of An Giang.
A delegation of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, on December 16 visited the Central Executive Board of the Hoa Hao Buddhism Sangha on the occasion of the centennial birth anniversary of the sect’s founder - Huynh Phu So.
