Fully vaccinated people from outbreak regions only have to self-quarantine at home for 7 days

People who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have been declared recovered coming from outbreak regions will not have to undergo concentrated quarantine, according to the latest guidelines from the Ministry of Health to local authorities.

Hanoi (VNA) - People who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have beendeclared recovered coming from outbreak regions will not have toundergo concentrated quarantine, according to the latest guidelines fromthe Ministry of Health to local authorities.

Afterarrival or returning, they will only need to self-quarantine at home andmonitor their health status for seven days, must wear a face mask andkeep to distance rules, and would be subjected to two tests – on the firstday and the seventh day of the isolation period.

Anoutbreak region is defined as those with community clusters or under lockdownmeasures like the Government’s Directive 15 or 16, for example, the cities of Hanoiand Ho Chi Minh City are considered outbreak regions and coloured red in thefrequently updated document on the Ministry of Health’s website.

Thosewho have not been fully vaccinated will have to self-quarantine at home/placeof residence for 14 days, and continue to monitor their health status for thenext 14 days.

Theywill be tested three times – the first day, the seventh day, and the 14th dayduring self-quarantine.

Peopletransiting through outbreak regions but not stopping don’t have toisolate.

Peoplefrom regions applying social distancing measures under Directive 16 who aredeployed to another locality on official Government duties led by adeputy minister or higher don’t have to quarantine, but need to closely observetheir own status for 14 days and report to local health authorities immediatelyif experiencing symptoms like coughing, fever, breathing difficulties, loss oftaste or smell. Fully vaccinated delegates only have to monitor their healthfor seven days.

Forpeople who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have recovered from thedisease in a foreign country, the verification and recognition of vaccinationor recovery certificates will follow the instructions of the health ministry.

Earlierthis week, the health ministry has also relaxed quarantine rules for fullyvaccinated/recovered arrivals into the country, requiring only seven days ofcentralised quarantine – down from the previous 14 days – and further sevendays for self-quarantine and medical observation./.
