Hanoi (VNA) - On May 23, voters nationwide will go to the polls to select deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term. Everyone is excited to wait and exercise their civil rights, obligations and responsibilities.

Through their ballots, voters expect to choose worthy delegates who will contribute to the development of the country and people's lives. That is also the reason why they eagerly look forward to this national festival.

At 16:30 pm everyday, the loudspeaker system of Phuc Xa ward (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) is bustling with campaigns to mobilize people to vote. The list of deputies to the XV National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term and detailed biography and working history of each candidate are read slowly so as people can have a good understanding and catch all necessary information.

In Phuc Xa ward, militiamen even use motorbikes to carry wireless speakers to each street. This method is to convey information to voters accurately and widely.

At polling stations, the list of candidates has also been publicly posted to help people study carefully before making their choice.

Pham Van Duong, who has voted three times and is residing at Lane 92 An Xa, Election Team No. 2, Phuc Xa Ward (Ba Dinh, Hanoi), is attentively following election programs these days. He believes that at this election, voters will be able to choose the most deserving candidates who represent the people's voice, reflecting the people's thoughts and aspirations at the National Assembly or at People's Councils of all levels.

“Candidates all have qualifications, working experience and practical experience and are holding positions in State agencies or political and social organizations. It will be very difficult for voters to make their choice this time,” he said.

Mr. Duong shared that at meetings with candidates, many voters expressed their confidence that the elected candidates would fulfill their responsibilities as representatives of the people and fulfill their promises and commitments.

Sharing the same view, voter Doan Hong Phong, resident at Tran Hung Dao ward (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) said he believes that delegates elected this time will be virtuous, capable and talented people, who truly represent the will and aspirations of the people, whether they are deputy at the National Assembly or at People’s Councils of all level.

“I hope that the candidates, after being elected, will fulfill their promises to the voters, contribute to the development of the country, and improve the material and spiritual life of the people,” Mr. Phong said.

As a candidate to run for the People's Council of Viet Yen district for the term 2021-2026, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Mai, deputy head of the Socio-Economic Department, People's Council of Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province said, she will continue to bring all her knowledge and experience in the previous course to meet voters’ needs if she is re-elected.

“The district People's Council continuously approaches and promptly grasps issues arising in localities as well as people's aspirations, and then reflects them at relevant agencies so that voters' opinions are received and resolved thoroughly," she stressed.

According to Bui Thi An, former deputy of the XIII National Assembly, information about the candidates has reached people and people need to be responsible for their votes to choose the most deserving persons. Who are the most deserving persons? They must be those who are “kind-hearted and capable”.

Seeing this year's election as a very "special" event because it takes place in the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, Tran The Cuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Residential Group No. 6 and head of the Election Team No. 6, Tran Hung Dao ward (Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi) said that voters do wish to find talented and virtuous representatives.

“Through the recent talks, it can be seen that delegates meet all criteria, but it is necessary to emphasize that voters need to be wise to choose the most deserving delegates. Voters’ choice should be base💟d on quality, not structure. They should vote for delegates who🙈 have a clear action plan and can fulfil promises they have made to voters once they are elected," Mr. Cuong emphasized./.
