Hanoi (VNA) - The domestic gold price skyrocketed to over 36 million VND per t✤ael (1 tael = 12 ounces) on July 4, the highest lev🐭el in the last two years.
The sharp rise was attributed to the increasing global price.
SJC gold was listed by the Saigon Jewellery Company at 36.16 – 36.72 million VND per tael (buying – selling) at 13:45 on July 4, a record high since the end of July 2014, soaring 560,000 VND and 720,000 VND, respectively, against the early session the same day.
The Bao Tin Minh Chau Jewellery Company at 13:40 also extended the buying/selling prices by 330,000 VND and 380,000 VND, posting at 36.33 – 36.58 million VND, respectively.
Gold price in the Asian market soared by 0.2 percent to 1,344.09 USD/ounce at the first session of the week on July 4.
