HCM City (VNA) - The31st Golden Racket table tennis tournament opened on July 15 at Nguyen DuGymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City.

The four-day event, which is one of theInternational Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) tournaments, is co-hosted by themunicipal Department of Culture and Sports and the city’s Table TennisFederation. 

It draws nearly 100 players from six countriesand territories including Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Hong Kong andTaiwan of China and Vietnam. 

The five teams representing the host countryinclude the Cement Hoang Thach, Military Club, Hoa Lu (HCM City), PetrosetcoHCM City Club and Hanoi National Sport Training Centre.

They will compete with their internationalrivals for medals in the men’s and women’s singles and team events. 

The winners of the event will receive prizesworth 300 million VND in total, an increase of 100 million VND compared to theprevious year.-VNA
