Hanoi (VNA) – The Government has made good progress in building legal documents but the work needs to be further accelerated in 2016, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Chairing the Government regular meeting on December 29, the PM asked ministries and sectors to work harder to complete the legal documents left over from 2015 plan by the end of the first quarter of 2016 and documents guiding the enforcement of laws that will become effective from January 1, 2016.

Cabinet members agreed that the Government have drafted a great numbers of laws and legal documents in 2015, with improved quality and higher speed. However, the plan for the year has not been fulfilled with nearly 60 legal documents being delayed.

At the meeting, participants also gave their opinions on good points and shortcomings in the management work of the Government and Prime Minister in the 2011-2016 tenure.

They affirmed that the Government strictly abided by policies and resolutions of the Party and the NA, turning the Party’s resolutions into concrete programmers and actions.

The Government has always upheld the sense of responsibility and taken the interests of the country and people as the highest goal, attendees stressed.

Participants also discussed the trial reform of operation mechanism of public higher education establishments in 2014-2017, a draft Decree on management and use of official development assistance and preferential loans from foreign donors, a draft Decree detailing the enforcement of some articles of the Labour Code concerning foreign workers working in Vietnam .
