HCM City (VNA) - Multi-service app GoViet announced on May 27 that its drivers will receive nearly 100,000 food portions from partner restaurants.

Besides, tens of thousands of vouchers worth 250,000 VND (11 USD) each will be provided for drivers to support their daily living costs.

The support is backed by a fund founded by GoViet’s Indonesia-based parent company Gojek in March to assist drivers and restaurant partners amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

GoViet’s Operational Manager Phung Tuan Duc said the initiative is hoped to ease the difficulties being faced by drivers and the company will look for new solutions to assist all components of GoViet’s ecosystem.

Earlier, the company introduced the GoShield initiative, which includes an insurance plan and cloth face masks for drivers.

Gojek’s 6-million USD relief fund aims to mitigate any damage caused by COVID-19 and help more than 2.9 million drivers and restaurant partners across Southeast Asia. Staff at GoViet also donated to the fund./.
