Hanoi (VNA) – The Guangxi Government wishes to♎ intensify cooperation with Vietnamese ministries and localities through education in order to nurture the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, said Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Antonymous Region Lan Tianli.

Lan, who is in Hanoi to attend the opening ceremony of the Guangxi Tertiary Education Exhibition, was welcomed by Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on July 20.
According to him, more than 40 universities in Guangxi are currently cooperating with 60 Vietnamese universities. In late 2015, there were 3,000 Vietnamese students in Guangxi, and more than 1,000 Guangxi students learning in Vietnam. Being adjacent to Vietnam, Guangxi also wants to tighten ties with the country’s border provinces in numerous fields, especially economics and education, for the common interests of both countries, he affirmed. VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan confirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to consolidating and strengthening its friendly neighbourliness and all-round cooperation with China.
Vietnamese leaders always support mutually beneficially collaboration between the two countries’ localities, particularly those sharing the border line. Vietnam is now Guangxi’s biggest trade partner, he said, suggesting both sides upgrade border gates, boost trade and tourism cooperation, and intensify cultural exchanges between Guangxi and the four Vietnamese border provinces. Nhan also asked the guest to hold more activities to tighten relations between Guangxi and Vietnam’s localities, especially in economics, trade, education, people-to-people diplomacy, and in building a border line of peace, friendship and development.-VNA
