Hanoi businesses announce Tet bonuses

A survey conducted by the Hanoi Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs shows that more than 160 units and businesses in the capital will maintain Lunar New Year (Tet) bonuses for their employees despite economic difficulties.

Le Toan Khang, thedepartment’s Deputy Director, said on December 31 that whollyforeign-invested companies have taken the lead in the festive bonuses,with the highest standing at 65 million VND (3,055 USD) and the lowest,over 3 million VND (141 USD).

Private companies will paybetween 40 million VND (1,880 USD) and 500,000 VND (23.5 USD) on thisoccasion. In general, each worker in the sector will receive an averageof more than 3.7 million VND (173.9 USD).

The highest andlowest Tet bonuses at partially State-owned companies would be 30million VND (1,410 USD) and 200,000 VND (9.4 USD).

Workers at State-owned companies will get 3 million VND (141 USD) on average, he said.-VNA
