Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi on December 8 presented 91 billion VND (3.9million USD) to help 12 central and Central Highlands provinces overcomeconsequences of recent floods and storms.

Specifically, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri andThua Thien-Hue were granted with 10 billion VND each, Binh Dinh, Kon Tum andQuang Binh received 7 billion VND each, and Nghe An, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and GiaLai 5 billion VND each.

Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Secretary of Hanoi’sParty Committee Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his hope that with the sentiments andsharing of Hanoians, natural disaster victims in the central and CentralHighlands region will soon overcome difficulties and stabilise production towelcome a warm and happy lunar New Year.

The municipal Party Committee will send a working delegationto the regions to study local needs in order to offer more specific andpractical assistance in the time ahead.

On behalf of the central and Central Highlands provinces,Secretary of Dak Lak’s Party Committee Bui Van Cuong thanked Hanoi authoritiesand people for their support.

He pledged to allocate the money effectively and to rightpersons.

The capital city is also planning to present gifts to nearly847,000 local welfare policy beneficiaries and poor people on the occasion ofthe upcoming lunar New Year festival, with a total capital of over 370 billionVND./.
