Hanoi hosts international industrial exhibition

Nearly 250 businesses, including 100 foreign companies from the Republic of Korea, China, Malaysia and Russia, are showcasing their latest products and technologies at the Vietnam International Industrial Fair 2014 (VIIF 2014), which commenced in Hanoi on October 21.

Duringthe four-day event, businesses will introduce their equipment for heavyindustry, energy, mining, mechanical engineering, support industriesand the environment.

A number of events to promote tradeand investment will be organised during the expo, including aVietnam-Russia science forum on October 22-23 which aims to fostercooperation on science, technology and educational reform betweenVietnamese and Russian firms.

A highlight of this year’sexpo, in its 23rd year so far, is the display area designed by theMinistry of Industry and Trade’s Department of Market Management withassistance from the European Trade Policy and Investment SupportProject.

The annual fair is one of the most prestigious economicpromotion campaigns in Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Industry and TradeDo Thang Hai said, adding that it contributes greatly to economicdevelopment and increases businesses’ trade.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
