Hanoi hosts International Judo Tournament

Twelve teams will take part in the 2012 Hanoi International Judo Tournament being held from May 19-21, announced the organising board at a press conference on May 17.

The Vietnamese teamwill compete with martial artists from the Republic of Korea , Laos, Indonesia and France . They will be divided into eight differentweight categories for both men and women.

Thetournament has been organised by Hanoi ’s Department of Culture,Sports and Tourism to mark the 122 nd anniversary of President Ho ChiMinh’s birthday.

The event is an excellentopportunity for the Vietnamese team to compete against teams fromoverseas, which will help them to gain more experience in theinternational arena.

It will also help to evaluatethe standard of Vietnam ’s martial artists so the best can beselected for national and international competitions.-VNA
