Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Duc Chungpledged to create the best possible conditions for Japan’s Uniqlo company to dobusiness in the city, during a reception on February 20 for Uniqlo VicePresident Koyama Noriaki.

Chungsaid considering the popularity of Uniqlo, the arrival of the brand to Hanoi isgreat news for local people.

Expressingsupport for the Japanese company’s target and development orientations in Hanoiand in Vietnam in general, the Hanoi leader agreed that the two sides willcontinue with discussion to reach a cooperation deal between the Hanoi People’sCommittee and Uniqlo.

Hesuggested that the company consider working with Vietnamese textile-garmentcompanies to produce goods.

TheUniqlo executive informed his host that the company’s first store in Hanoi, thebiggest in Southeast Asia, will open in early March. In the context of theCOVID-19 epidemic, the company will ensure a safe shopping environment, hesaid.

Accordingto Koyama, the company plans to open at least three stores in Hanoi during thisyear, and plans to work with local universities to recruit employees.

Thesame day, the Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee hosted a reception forMalaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato’ Shariffah Norhana Syed Mustaffa./.
