At its 25th session, the Hanoi People’s Council officially passed a resolution outlining measures to reduce plastic emissions, underlining the city’s determination to promote a greener lifestyle. Of particular note, from January 1, 2028, markets and convenience stores across the capital will no longer be allowed to distribute or use single-use plastic products, including non-biodegradable bags and Styrofoam containers.
