Hanoi: nearly 400 bln VND for Tet gifts to policy beneficiaries

Hanoi will spend 378.9 billion VND (over 16 million USD)on gifts to 871,790 people on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year 2019, according to the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Hanoi (VNA) - Hanoi will spend 378.9billion VND (over 16 million USD) ongifts to 871,790 people on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year 2019, accordingto the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Accordingly, policybeneficiaries and impoverished households, the elderly, outstanding individuals,and poor workers will receive gifts worth from 300,000 VND (nearly13 USD) to 2,500,000 VND each.

Additionally, the city will present Tet gifts to 95 organisations which are caringfor those who rendered services to the nation revolution, and outstandingbusiness units of wounded and sick soldiers and disabled people in the city, aswell as social protection centres.

Financial support will also be given to those who work during the holiday.

The municipal People’s Committee also assigned the People’s Committees ofdistricts and towns, and heads of relevant agencies to call for donations and assistancefrom organizations and individuals, thus bringing warm Tet to policy beneficiaries and poor people onthe occasion of the longest and biggest annual festival in Vietnam.-VNA
