Hanoi promotes people-to-people diplomacy

The move comes after the establishment ofassociations aimed at promoting friendship with foreign countries in thecity’s towns and districts by the Hanoi Union of FriendshipOrganisations on June 25.

The associations aim to enhancesolidarity, friendship and cooperation between Hanoi organisations andindividuals and international friends.

The union will firstlywork with the municipal Fatherland Front Central Committee to organisemeetings with people of foreign countries in Hoan Kiem and Tu Liemdistricts and Son Tay town.

From now until the end of theyear, the union will partner with districts to host people-to-peoplediplomacy training courses.

There will be a range ofactivities, including setting up a club of foreigners speakingVietnamese and a Latin American club in Hanoi and organising a meetingand exchanges celebrating the 40 th anniversary of diplomatic tiesbetween Vietnam and other countries.

Since the start of theyear, the union has successfully launched peace, friendship, protocol,foreign relations, communication and humanitarian activities.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
