Hanoi shares citizen reception experience with Japan

To well handle petitions, itis necessary to intensify activities to encourage and persuade peopleto fully implement the State’s policies and laws, said Hanoileaders.

Hanoi has issued the Law on CapitalCity , which aims to better the management of issues relating to thelives of its people, they said, adding that the city has also increasedinspections on civil servants’ attitude of serving people.

According to Vu Hong Khanh, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee, in 2012, Hanoi received about 10,000 petitions, focusingon such issues as land, planning, environment, construction and housing.Of all, 90 percent of cases were handled.

Expressingthanks to experience shared in the work, Sakamoto Tetsushi, JapaneseDeputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, said he believesthat the fine traditional relationship between Vietnam and Japan overthe last 40 years will lay a foundation for his ministry and Hanoi tocooperate more closely in the future.-VNA
