Hanoi police are working to ensure the flow of traffic and safety for the new academic year that is scheduled to begin on the morning of September 5. As Hanoi is home to 2,482 schools, including 960 kindergartens, 707 elementary schools, 607 secondary facilities and 208 high schools, the capital streets are expected to be heavily congested on the day.
As such, intensive traffic control will be launched at major spots in addition to timely transport assistance provided for students having trouble on their way to school.
The ceremony to resume lessons after a summer break annually features a range of traditional activities, such as welcoming first-year students, saluting the national flag, singing the national anthem and reading the President’s letter. All schools across the country will hold the opening ceremony for the 2015-2016 school year on the morning of September 5, according to a document issued by the Education and Training Ministry.-VNA
