Hanoi to build another flyover to reduce congestion

Hanoi (VNA) -Hanoi will build a flyover over the An Duong-Thanh Nien intersection to meettraffic demand and reduce congestion in the city.

The project also includes modifications to the structure of a section of the HuuHong dyke, according to the Hanoi Traffic Project Management Board.

The flyover, estimated to cost more than 311.9 billion VND (some 7 million USD),is 271m in length and 10m in width.

Work is expected to begin next month and will be completed in about sevenmonths.

Nguyen Chi Cuong, deputy director of the project management board, said theproject implementation would ensure requirements on architecture, anti-floodingand easing traffic congestion in the capital.

Earlier, the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment established a project examination council of scientists andconsulted with the public before starting construction.

The flyover will facilitate traffic flow to the Noi Bai international airportthrough Nhat Tan Bridge.-VNA
