Hanoi to host first short film festival

Hanoi (VNA) – The capital city of Hanoi will host the first Short Film Festival - Sao Khue Award from August 26-28ꦕ.

The festival, organised by the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Hanoi Cinema Association, is among activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the capital (October 10, 1954 - 2024). Launched on May 22, the festival has received 32 entries, including 20 documentaries, 10 animations and two short films. A free screening of the films participating in the festival will be held on August 24 at Kim Dong Cinema.
Banh Thi Mai Phương, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Cinema Association and head of the festival organising committee, said that the festival aims to encourage filmmakers to create works about Thang Long - Hanoi.
It is expected to become a venue for filmmakers and the public to meet and exchange to produce valuable products that help promote the city's cultural industry and its images. Within the framework of the festival, there will be seminars on cinema and short film production and film screenings./.
