Hanoi will support connection in trading goods with localities

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The People’s Committee of Hanoi on April 23 issuedplans on organising activities to connect production and distribution of goodsbetween Hanoi and other provinces and cities nationwide by year-end.

These activities are aimed at strengthening regional links and supportingconsumption of goods and agricultural products to ensure supply for the capitalcity.

Accordingly, in the last two quarters of this year, Hanoi will organisedelegations of municipal officials and businesses to many provinces and citiesnationwide to enhance trade promotion activities.

They include Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Son La, Hoa Binh, Nam Dinh,Bac Kan, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Lang Son, Long An, Ben Tre, Can Tho and An Giang.

Hanoi and those provinces and cities will open conferences and goods tradingactivities to display products and sign contracts and memoranda ofunderstanding. Those will help Hanoi to have increased supply of goods, meetingthe city’s demand.

At the same time, the city will organise delegations of Hanoi’s businesses tojoin the programme on cooperation and support to connect consumption ofagricultural products and goods with economic regions. It expects to implementthis programme in Ninh Thuan province or Lam Dong province in the central andcentral highlands region and Tra Vinh province in the southern region.

In Hanoi, the city will organise weeks for fruits and agricultural products ofprovinces and cities to support localities facing difficulties in consumptionand export. Those weeks will introduce farming produce of other provinces and citiesto the capital city’s consumers.

In addition, Hanoi will support provinces and cities nationwide in openingtheir weeks for fruit and agricultural products in the capital city.

Those activities are expected to support businesses, cooperatives and farmersin Hanoi and other provinces and cities in following supply and demand of themarket to have flexible production and business plans and ensure the balance ofsupply and demand.

At the same time, they will support businesses and cooperatives to promotebrands and products in the domestic market and to export goods to foreignmarkets via distribution systems of foreign firms in Vietnam, such as CentralGroup, Aeon and Lotte./.

Overnight interb♔ank interest rate hits 16-month low thanks to abundant liquidity

According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), in the interbank market, the trend of decreasing overnight interest rates has continued, starting at 3.13% in the first session of last week and gradually decreasing over the sessions to 1.67% at the last session of the week. In total, overnight interest rates decreased by 1.46 percentage points within one week.
