HCM City hosts int’l gifts expo

Lifestyle Vietnam, one of the largest home decor and gifts fairs in Southeast Asia, kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on April 18.

Besides domestic exporters, the four-day event has drawn businesses from12 countries and territories, showcasing a wide range of products suchas fine art articles, handicrafts, timber furniture, home decoration,fashion accessories and jewelry at more than 800 booths.

A design contest will be held as part of the fair to promote creativity.

Chairman of the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association Do Nhu Dinhsaid the expo has welcomed nearly 2,000 foreign buyers from 32 nationsand territories, including 400 from Japan, over 300 from Europe, 180from the US and nearly 100 from Australia, in addition to many majorimporters from Canada, Chile, and Mexico.

Deputy Minister ofTrade and Industry Tran Quoc Khanh said the wood and handicraft sectoris one of the key foreign currency earners of the nation, raking in 6.5billion USD in export revenue in 2013.-VNA

🦹 Maximum fine of 3,000 USD proposed for violating invoice regulations

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
