HCM City hosts lighting, home decor expos

Wind and solar powered lighting as well as other environmentally friendly products will be presented at two international exhibitions held simultaneously in HCM City later this year.

Organisers said at a press conference on May 23 that the exhibitionswill showcase the latest lighting, furniture and interior decorationproducts and solutions from 250 foreign and local companies.

TheVietnam Lighting Exhibition and the Vietnam Home Fashion&Decor 2011will be held from December 15-17 at the Sai Gon Exhibition andConvention Center in District 7.
The exhibitions aim to createopportunities to increase brand awareness, establish relationships withnew partners and buyers, receive national recognition for products andservices and identify latest trends in the market place, organiserssaid. Stanley Chu, chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd,said Vietnam is well known as one of the fastest growing countries inthe world with continuously high GDP growth and huge foreign directinvestments, especially in the real estate sector. Withincreasing urbanisation and the government's long-term plans for energyconservation, demand was set to grow for lighting, furniture anddecorative products for various sectors including housing,infrastructure, commercial complexes and the hospitality industry, hesaid. Vietnam Lighting 2011 will present products and services ofdecorative lighting products and technology, electrical lightingmachines technology and interior lighting designing technology. Itwill also cover the most comprehensive lighting topics such asarchitectural lighting, green lighting, commercial lighting, decorativelighting, household lighting, LED/OLED lighting, outdoor lighting,advertising lighting&signs, wind/solar power lighting, lightingdesign and lighting accessories. Dang Kim Giao, Ministry ofConstruction's director of Construction Information Technology Centre,said the event is a special opportunity for domestic and foreignenterprises to cooperate, transfer technology and strengthen investmentand trade promotion as well. The Vietnam Home Fashion&Decor2011, on the other hand, will showcase top quality home furnishings,office furniture, kitchen furniture, upholstered and non-upholsteredfurniture, bedroom furniture, as well as decorative items and designsfor every room in a house. With the urbanisation rate in Vietnamforecast to increase to 45.2 percent from the current 27 percent by2020, the furniture market is entering a golden age, organisers said. Besides,a series of industry summit, networking event, architect and designeractivities and special showcases will be held to provide more in-depthexchange and networking. The exhibitions will be organised byAdsale Exhibition Services Ltd in collaboration with AFC InternationalExhibition Fair Corp, one of the leading companies in the field inVietnam. It is also the organiser of Vietnam's largest buildingmaterials exhibition, Vietbuild. The organisers are supported bythe Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Industry and Trade,Vietnam Lighting Association, the Vietnam Science and TechnologyAcademy, and the Vietnam Union of Architects./.

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
