Ho Chi Minh City and Laos’ Champasak province should review cooperation outcomes over recent years and speed up the signing of collaboration agreements for 2016-2020, said Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai. Meeting Champasak’s Party Committee Secretary and Governor Bounthong Divixay in the city on September 11, Hai said the two sides should double their efforts to realise reached deals while determining new affiliation areas to suit modern realities.
Congratulating the Lao province on successfully organising its seventh Party Congress, Hai believed that the province would continue making achievements under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. He also lauded the Champasak delegation’s participation in the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2015 (ITE HCM), saying it will contribute to promoting the traditional ties between the two Parties and nations.
For his part, Bounthong Divixay thanked Ho Chi Minh City for supporting his province over the past years, especially in personnel training. The city’s youth voluntary activities have also been a great help to locals in Champasak, he said. He said Champasak has worked hard to implement signed agreements between the two sides, adding that he hopes the two localities will expand their partnership and thus contribute to advancing the sound relationship between the two nations.-VNA
