– Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party’s Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on August 5 hosted a reception forGerman investors who visited to explore investment opportunities in thesouthern hub of Vietnam.

They wereHorst Pudwill, German Chairman of the Hong Kong-based household appliance company Techtronic Industries (TTI) andHorst Geicke, Chairman of the Deutsches Haus (German House) Ho Chi Minh City.

During thereception, TTI Chairman HorstPudwill presented his idea on a 650-million-USD project in the Saigon Hi-techPark which focuses on manufacturing of electric hand tools and power electronicconverters for electrics, mechanical engineering and the Internet of Things.

Meanwhile, Chairman HorstGeicke proposedinvesting over 24 million USDto build a vocational training centre in District 9 as well as a plan toconstruct the second German House building in the city.

Pudwill spoke highlyof the Vietnam – Germany relations over the past decade and wished that hiscompany would continuereceiving support from the local administration in the future projects,contributing to fostering the bilateral ties between the two countries andbetween Germany and HCM City.

Welcoming theinvestment proposals, Nhan said the projects would create hi-tech products,helping the city improve quality of R&D activities and human resources.

The cityleader answered questions of German investors regarding local procedures oftechnological appraisal, land lease and registration at the Saigon Hi-techPark.

He affirmedthat local authorities would create all possible conditions for foreign firmsto do business in the city.–VNA
