HCM City leaders pay tribute to war martyrs

A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Committee, People’s Council and Vietnam Fatherland Front on April 26 paid homage to fallen soldiers at local martyrs’ cemeteries on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification, and 133rd May Day.

HCM City (VNA) –
A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City PartyCommittee, People’s Committee, People’s Council and Vietnam Fatherland Front onApril 26 paid homage to fallen soldiers at local martyrs’ cemeteries on theoccasion of the 44th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam andNational Reunification, and 133rd May Day.

At the Ben Duoc temple, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee TranLuu Quang, representatives from departments, sectors and districts, and peoplefrom all walks of life offered incense and flowers to heroic Vietnamese mothersand war martyrs who laid down their lives during the resistant wars against Franceand US in the past.

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman ofthe municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le led a delegation to pay tribute tofallen soldiers at the martyrs’ cemetery in District 9. They held a minutesilence for the fallen soldiers.

The same day, the city’s leaders and local residents offered incense andflowers to late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ton Duc Thang at their Museums.-VNA
