HCM City to build new kids’ centre

The HCM City People’s Committee has approved a project to build a new children’s cultural centre in District 5.

HCM City (VNA) – The HCM City People’s Committeehas approved a project to build a new children’s cultural centre in District 5.

The centre will be located at 651 Tran Hung Dao Street, replacing the current LaoDong A-B Theatre. The theatre, built in the 1940s, is in disrepair.

The municipal authorities hope the new building will be a new entertainmentarea for local children and residents, and will improve their social andcultural life.

The centre will include a 250-seat theatre, a 130-seat hall and two cinemaswith a total of 480 seats, covering an area of 516 square metres.

It will cost 164 billion VND (7.2 million USD) and be built according to theBuild – Operate – Transfer (BOT) model.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
