HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City is willing to continue takingmeasures to enhance its friendship and connection with Cambodian localities inorder to further develop the Vietnam-Cambodia traditional friendship andcomprehensive cooperation.

The statement was made by Tran The Luu, member of themunicipal Party Committee’s Standing Board and head of the committee’sCommission for Internal Affairs, at his reception on February 5 for LieutenantGeneral Mon Sopheap, Deputy Commander of the Special Military Region under theRoyal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), who is leading a delegation to visit thecity ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

Luu affirmed that the local leaders always support theeffective development of relations between the municipal High Command and the SpecialMilitary Region.

Mon Sopheap, in reply, confirmed that the Special MilitaryRegion and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces at large are willing to collaboratewith the Vietnam People’s Army, including Ho Chi Minh City’s High Command.

He thanked Ho Chi Minh City and the municipal High Command forsupporting Cambodia’s people and RCAF, which has helped nurture and develop thefriendship and solidarity between the two countries’ armies and people.-VNA
