Hanoi (VNA) – Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien ordered Hanoiauthorities to promote communication work to raise public awareness of denguefever prevention during a trip to inspect disease control in Thuy Khue ward,Tay Ho district on August 20.

Statistics from the municipal health sector showed that more 18,000 people havecontracted the infectious disease this year, causing seven deaths.
Currently, 12 districts are on red alert for dengue fever. Dong Da, Hoang Mai,Ha Dong and Thanh Xuan districts have reported the most dengue cases.
According to Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy,mosquito spraying in kindergartens, schools, universities and markets will partlyhelp the city control the disease. -VNA
The Hanoi Department of Health is intensifying measures to reduce the number of fatalities caused by mosquito-borne dengue fever – which is likely to cause more infections due to hot and rainy weather.
