– A working team from the Ministry of Health led by Vice Director of thePreventive Medicine Department Dang Quang Tan inspected the prevention andcontrol of dengue fever in the central city of Da Nang on August 4.

The team advised thecity to pay greater attention to killing mosquito larva in the community andspraying chemicals in areas of high risk, while raising public awareness of thework. Da Nang should also encourage locals to go to health facilities immediatelyafter they find any dengue fever symptoms.

At the same time, theteam also asked the municipal Health Department to roll out stronger measuresagainst diseases and pandemics, especially dengue fever.

According to the DaNang Health Department, since the beginning of this year, the city has recorded3,800 dengue fever cases, up 85 percent over the same period last year. Theunusual weather condition with high humidity was one of the reasons behind thespreading of the mosquito-borne virus.

In addition, mostlocals have paid inadequate attention to the killing of mosquito larva in theirhouses and residential areas to prevent dengue fever.-VNA

Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production tec♛hnology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
