Hearing-impaired children receive help

The HCM City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients received 640 hearing aids to help poor hearing-impaired children at a charity programme on Nov. 2.

The event was jointlyorganised by the Americans Helping Asian Children organisation, theConsular Club of HCM City and Siemens Medical Instruments company.

At the event, as many as 284 hearing-impaired children from 16 schoolsin HCM City and neighbouring provinces of Tay Ninh, Ben Tre, Dong Nai,Binh Duong and Ba Ria – Vung Tau were provided with the devices, eachworth nearly 100 USD.

The remaining hearing aids will be donated to poor children in the central region.

Tran Thanh Long, Chairman of the HCM City Sponsoring Association forPoor Patients thanked donors for their support in helpinghearing-impaired children integrate into the community.

Erdal Elver, President and General Director of Siemens Vietnam, whichprovided 60 hearing aids at the event, said that Siemens’ advancedtechnologies will help the children achieve higher academic results andenjoy a better life./.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
