High-end resort to be built on Phu Quoc Island

A document to this effect was signed between the M.I.K Corporation andMelia Hotels International (MHI) at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City onMarch 26.

At the signing ceremony, M.I.K DeputyGeneral Director Pham Thanh Tuan said the agreement will contribute toimproving the quality of tourist services on the island as well as theoverall Vietnamese tourism reputation.

MHI DeputyChairman in the Asian-Pacific region, Bernardo Cabot hailed the uniquebeauty of the island with its pristine beaches and improvedinfrastructure facilities.

Sol House will bring value to the ‘Pearl Island’, he added.

M.I.K is among the top investors in high-end estate development inHanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It has also invested in numerous five-starresorts and villas in Phu Quoc and Phan Thiet city in central BinhThuan province.

Phu Quoc is the largest of the 25 islands forming Phu Quoc district in southern Kien Giang province.

The Pearl Island greeted over 580,000 tourists in 2014, including nearly 125,000 foreigners.

The island now offers over 4,000 hotel rooms which can accommodate 7,000-8,000 guests.-VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
