The labour market in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to stabilise byyear-end as the economy recovers steam, according to the city's Centrefor Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labour Market Information.
The centre forecasts that companies and enterprises in the city will need about 60,000 employees in the last quarter.
Most of them are in the fields of retail, marketing, services, foodtechnology, tourism-hospitality, logistics, information technology,engineering and electronics.
Of the 60,000employees, 10,000 will be for companies and enterprises at the city'sindustrial parks and export processing zones with most of them being inthe fields of garment-footwear, food technology and electronics.
Ho Chi Minh City will also need 30,000 more employees for seasonal jobs by the end of the year.
According to the centre, the needs of human resources at companies andenterprises in the city in the third quarter rose by 11.4 percentcompared to the second quarter.
Increased demandwas in many fields, including retail, services, marketing,communications, graphic design, information technology, real estate,logistics and electronics-electricity.
New graduatesfrom vocational schools, colleges and universities in Ho Chi Minh Cityhad many chances to find jobs in the third quarter, said Tran Anh Tuan,the centre's standing deputy head.
The need for employees without work experience in the quarter accounted for 41 per cent, he said.
The salary for employees without work experience was 4-6 million VND (190-285.7 USD) per month.
Companies and enterprises offered salaries of 5-10 million VND(238-476 USD) per month for employees with less than five years of workexperience and 10 million VND and above for those with more than fiveyears of work experience.
The initial salary for manual workers was about 3-4 million VND per month.-VNA
