Bangkok (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh Museum was inaugurated in Ban Dong in Phichitprovince of Thailand, 350km🧸 north of Baꩲngkok capital, on September 1.
This isthe third memorial site of late President Ho Chi Minh in Thailand, followingones in Udon Thani and Nakhon Phanom provinces. Theinauguration ceremony was held by the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports,local authorities and the Embassy of Vietnam in Thailand, with the participationof about 300 overseas Vietnamese and Thai people. Speakingat the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Hai Bang recalled thatPresident Ho Chi Minh stayed andworked for revolutionary activities in Phichit province from July 1928 untillate 1929. During his stay, he encouraged solidarity and the fight againstilliteracy among overseas Vietnamese in Thailand. The diplomat also expressed his hope that themuseum will become a famous cultural and tourist destination of Phichitprovince and Thailand in general. For his part, Thai Minister of Tourism andSports Weerasak Kowsurat noted that the museum will contribute to deepening thefriendship between Vietnam and Thailand. Coveringan area of 6,400 square metres, the Ho Chi Minh Museum, along with the Ho ChiMinh Memorial Site, is located in the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Centre inPhichit province. Constructionof the museum began in December 2013 at a cost of more than 30 million THB (about915,000 USD) funded by the Thai government.-VNA
