Hoi An rated among world’s best places for expats

Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam has been ranked the 14th best place in the world for expatriates to live by the The Travel website, thanks to the ancient town’s “cheap cost of living”.

Quang Nam (VNS/VNA) – Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam hasbeen ranked the 14th best place in the world for expatriates to live by the TheTravel website, thanks to the ancient town’s “cheap cost of living”.

According to the Canadian travel site, Hoi An is the best destination forbudget-conscious foreigners who want to settle down in Vietnam, and monthlyliving costs can be managed within 1,000 USD.

Cuenca in Ecuador topped the list, followed by Ambergris Caye in Belize,Tagaytay in the Philippines, and Ljubljana in Slovenia.

Indonesia’s Bali made it into the top 10 while Cambodia was 11th and Penang inMalaysia was 16th.

British newspaper The Telegraph last week named Hoi An among theworld’s cheapest global destinations, citing the Post Office’s annual LongHaul Holiday Report. 

CNN recently listed Hoi An as one of the 16 best places in the world to relaxand de-stress.

Hoi An ranked second in a list of the safest and most exciting places on thisearth for solo travellers compiled by travel editors at UK travel site Momondo.

In 2016 the town was hailed as the cheapest travel destination by budgettourism site Price of Travel, with daily expenses for a backpacker estimated at22.29 USD.-VNS/VNA
