Following the ceremony, 100 voluntary students joined abicycle parade through major streets of the central city of Hue,calling on the public to respond to the humanitarian effort.
Over the past few years, the university chapter of the Ho Chi MinhCommunist Youth Union (HCMCYU) has held various humanitarian blooddonation campaigns, drawing thousands of HCMCYU members and students.
Clubs named “Red Drop” were started in universities to establishblood banks. Each year, this blood supply saves thousands of lives.
Last year, Thua Thien-Hue province collected over 16,900 units ofblood via 93 similar campaigns, said standing Deputy Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee Ngo Hoa.
The Hue University’sHCMCYU chapter launched 17 voluntary blood donation campaigns,collecting over 4,100 units of blood with the participation of 2,700students.-VNA
