Tay Ninh (VNA) – A great hornbill, scientificallyknown as Buceros bicornis, rare bird species on the endangered wild animalslist, was rescued in 💞the southern pro♓vince of Tay Ninh.

The bird, weighing 2.5 kilograms, was seized bythe Tay Ninh police while being illegally trafficked by a local resident onMarch 3. The case is being investigated and proceduresare underway to release the bird into the wild. According to the Tay Ninh Forest Management,the bird is listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and of the International Unionfor Conservation of Nature as “near threatened”.-VNA

Vietnam ramps up plastic waste recycling, reuse, treatment efforts🃏

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.
